Relationship Help

Are you separated, divorced, or single again?

Do you find yourself repeating the same relationship patterns?

Wonder why it seems so easy for everyone else?

You are not alone.

For the majority of us, romantic relationship is the most meaningful part of our lives and as such, the stakes are very high. Relationships have the unique capacity to be the source of our deepest fulfillment, as well as painful frustration in life. The ability to have a healthy, loving relationship is not an inborn skill. Most of us have experienced a failed relationship at one time or another. For the majority of us, it takes some work to learn the skills necessary to have a healthy, loving relationship.

Relationship Counseling

I specialize in depth psychotherapy with individual adults. While I do not see couples in my practice, I have a special interest in working with relationship issues within the context of individual therapy. Often the issues that come up for people in couples therapy are more effectively addressed in individual therapy. If you are in a relationship now or perhaps just hope to be in the future, individual counseling can provide a unique opportunity to address your concerns in a safe environment.

Relationship counseling can help you learn to:
  • Make healthy boundaries with your partner
  • Communicate your needs effectively
  • Negotiate conflict and make compromises
  • Regulate your stress and/or anger
  • Work through previous injuries and do relationship repair work
  • Navigate transitions such as separation or divorce
  • Address codependency issues
  • Develop healthier behavioral patterns
  • Overcome sexual problems
  • Balance alone time with time spent together
  • Increase intimate connection and capacity for vulnerability
  • Develop more compassion for yourself and your partner
  • Approach relationship as a vehicle for personal growth
